Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know about Momentier fragrances, Extrait de Parfum as a grade, and how to get the most out of every spray.

About Extrait de Parfum

What's the difference between Extrait de Parfum and Eau de Parfum?
Extrait de Parfum (or 'Parfum') has 33%+ fragrance oil concentration. Eau de Parfum has 12-20%. Eau de Toilette has 5-15%. Cologne has 2-4%. Higher oil means longer wear, deeper sillage, and less alcohol on skin.

How long does a Momentier fragrance last?
10-12 hours on most skin types in Indian conditions. A few base notes (sandalwood, oud, amber) project for 14+ hours. Citrus-led top notes fade within 1-2 hours, but the heart and base carry the scent forward through the day.

Why does Extrait de Parfum cost more than EDP?
It uses 2-3 times more fragrance oil per bottle. The raw materials — naturals like rose absolute, oud, sandalwood, and high-quality synthetics like ambroxan — are the most expensive components in any perfume. A 50ml Extrait contains the oil of roughly 2-3 bottles of Eau de Parfum.

What does '33%+ oil concentration' actually mean?
Of every 100ml in the bottle, at least 33ml is pure fragrance oil. The remaining 67ml is the carrier — perfumer's alcohol with a small fixative blend. Most mainstream perfumes sold in India are 12-15ml of oil per 100ml — less than half our concentration.

Wearing & Application

How much should I spray?
2-3 sprays for daytime, 4-5 for evening. Because Extrait de Parfum is concentrated, less is more — over-spraying turns elegant scents heavy.

Where should I spray it?
Pulse points: inner wrists, sides of neck, behind ears, inner elbows. For longer wear, spray on freshly moisturized skin. Don't rub your wrists together — it crushes the top notes.

Will it stain my clothes?
Spray on skin, not clothing. Like all high-concentration perfumes, the oil can leave subtle marks on light or delicate fabrics. Let the spray dry on skin for 30 seconds before dressing.

Storage & Care

How should I store my Momentier bottle?
Cool, dark, dry. A drawer or cupboard works. Heat and direct sunlight degrade fragrance oils over time. Don't store in the bathroom — humidity isn't kind to perfume.

How long does an unopened bottle stay good?
3-5 years if stored well. Once opened and exposed to air, 2-3 years of best performance. You'll know it's gone off when the top notes smell sharp or 'off' — but the heart and base will usually still wear well even on older bottles.

Ingredients & Skin

Are Momentier fragrances safe for sensitive skin?
All Momentier fragrances are IFRA-compliant (the international fragrance safety standard). If you have very sensitive skin or known allergies to specific aromatic compounds, do a patch test on your inner forearm before full use.

Are Momentier fragrances cruelty-free?
Yes. Our fragrances are made with synthetic and plant-derived musks and ambers — no animal-sourced civet, castoreum, or natural musk. We don't test on animals.

Are Momentier fragrances unisex?
Yes — every Momentier fragrance is designed to be worn by anyone. We don't gender our scents; we describe them by mood, occasion, and scent character so you can choose what fits you.

Trial Sizes & Trying Before You Commit

Why do you offer 20ml sizes?
Fragrance is personal. A full 50ml is a real commitment for a scent you've only smelled at a counter for 30 seconds. Our 20ml bottles let you wear a fragrance for two full weeks — through different weather, moods, and outfits — before deciding it's yours.

Are 20ml and 50ml the same fragrance, just different sizes?
Identical formulation. Same 33%+ oil concentration, same notes, same longevity. The 20ml is just a smaller bottle of the same juice. Once you find your scent, the 50ml is more economical per ml.

Made for India

Why is Extrait de Parfum better suited to Indian climate?
Indian heat and humidity accelerate fragrance evaporation. Lower-concentration grades like Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum are designed for cooler European climates and disappear within hours in Indian summer. The higher oil content of Extrait de Parfum is what makes a fragrance survive past noon in Mumbai or Delhi.

Where are Momentier fragrances made?
Hand-bottled in India. Our oils are sourced from established essential oil houses in Grasse (the perfume capital of France) and Mumbai. Final filling, capping, and inspection happens at our facility.
